About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover photograph (Copyright © 2000, American Society for Microbiology. All rights reserved.): CRAM is a transmembrane receptor protein located exclusively at the flagellar pocket of trypanosomes. These images demonstrate that a carboxy-terminally truncated CRAM (green, bottom image) colocalizes with Bip (red, middle image) in the endoplasmic reticulum of the procyclic form of Trypanosoma brucei. The DAPI stain (blue) identifies the nucleus (large dot) and the kinetoplast (small dot). The top image represents a superposition of all images. (See related article on p. 5149.)
