About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover photograph (Copyright © 2001, American Society for Microbiology. All rights reserved.): Differential localization of nucleosomal binding proteins during the cell cycle. Confocal images are of HeLa cells doubly labeled with antibodies to histone H1 and to the nucleosomal binding protein HMGN2. The proteins are labeled green, and the DNA is labeled red. The images were recolorized to facilitate comparison of the cellular localization of the proteins. Histone H1 (left two panels) colocalizes with the DNA at all stages of the cell cycle, while HMGN2 (right two panels) does not. (See related article on page 5169.)
