The v; 8 integrin is necessary for this association, and embryos genetically null for v integrins display abnormal neuroepithelial elaborations and develop brain-specific hemorrhage. The cerebral microvessels (red) were visualized by using an antifibronectin antibody. The neuroepithelial cells (green) were labeled with an antinestin antibody.
