Overlap of green and red stains appears as yellow, yellow-green, and orange. dAda2a is highly enriched in developmental chromosome puffs, which represent RNA polymerase II-dependent loci. dAda3, which is strictly associated with dGcn5-containing histone acetyltransferase complexes, is far less abundant in these regions. This supports the notion that dAda2a functions in dGcn5-independent transcription-linked multiprotein complexes (See related article in May 2003, issue 9; vol. 23, p. 3305.)
