All Rights Reserved.): Human aortic endothelial cells prepared from a freshly explanted aorta fragment were directly seeded on a type I collagen-coated coverslip and stimulated with transforming growth factor β for 20 hours. Fluorescent staining was performed for F-actin (red) and vinculin (green) detection, and von Willebrand factor staining (blue) was performed to identify endothelial cells. Rosettes of podosomes are visualized in yellow by F-actin and vinculin colocalization. (See related article in May 2006, vol. 26: issue 9, p. 3582.)
