Cover photograph (Copyright © 2006, American Society for Microbiology. All Rights Reserved.): Stress-induced recruitment of PMR60° into stress granules. Cos-7 cells were transfected with plasmids encoding green fluorescent protein (GFP)–TIA-1 and the mRNA endonuclease PMR60°. Oxidative stress was induced by treating with arsenite for 30 min followed by 30 min of recovery, and fixed cells were stained for PMR60° (red) and endogenous eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3b (eIF3b) (blue). GFP–TIA-1 is in green, and the large white foci are stress granules containing GFP–TIA-1, PMR60°, and eIF3b. (See related article on page 8803.)
