All Rights Reserved.): Whole-body radiography of 12-month-old C terminus of Hsp70-interacting protein +/+ (CHIP+/+) (left) and CHIP−/− mice (right) demonstrates features of accelerated aging including kyphoscoliosis, decreased adiposity, and osteoporosis in mice lacking CHIP, consistent with an accelerated aging phenotype in these mice. These observations link defects in protein quality control with accelerated senescence in mammals. (See related article on page 4018.)
